Omarion Smith of Dalton State (Ga.) Picks up Defensive Player of the Week Honors After a Big Week Protecting the Rim

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Omarion Smith of Dalton State (Ga.) was critical on the defensive end of the floor, recording double-digit blocks over two games last week to earn the Gared Performance Sports Systems NAIA Men's Basketball Defensive Player of the Week award.

Smith protected the glass across the Roadrunners' two games last week, opening the week against Tennessee Southern with eight blocks, three boards, and one steal. He followed that performance up with two more blocks and 11 rebounds against Blue Mountain Christian (Miss.) just two days later.

Overall, the senior forward tallied a total of ten blocks, 14 boards, four assists, and one steal while scoring an average of 12.5 points per game.

Smith and the Roadrunners are back in action at Oakwood (Ala.) this evening, Tuesday, Feb. 10, at 7 p.m. CT.
