KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Gil Gonzalez of Brewton-Parker (Ga.) dominated the glass for the Barons, with double-digit blocks, Gared Performance Sports Systems NAIA Men's Basketball Defensive Player of the Week award.

Gonzalez was critical in the 67-61 upset win against Life (Ga.) back on Jan. 6, recording a week-high five blocks. He added six defensive boards and three steals to his box score for the game. Two nights later, he continued to protect the rim against Abraham Baldwin (Ga.) with four more blocks and ten total boards, eight of which were on the defensive glass. Then, against Thomas (Ga.), Gonzalez tacked on two more blocks for the week and eight more defensive rebounds.

Overall, Gonzalez controlled the Barons' defensive efforts with 11 total blocks and 22 defensive boards, helping them to a 3-0 week.
