Avery Jackson of The Master's (Calif.) Shot Lights Out Last Week to Earn Offensive Player of the Week Honors

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Avery Jackson of The Master's (Calif.) was locked in last week over two games, shooting a combined 62.5% from the floor on the week to earn the Gared Performance Sports Systems NAIA Men's Basketball Player of the Week honors.

Jackson averaged 36 minutes per game over two contests for the Mustangs. He opened last week with a career high 45 points against Park-Gilbert (Ariz.) where he shot 73.9% from the floor, 57.1% from deep, and went 7-of-10 at the charity stripe, pushing TMU to a 116-99 victory at home.

Two days later, he added 25 more points to his weekly total against No. 19 Benedictine Mesa (Ariz.) to lift his team to a six-point victory that was close until late. During that game, he shot 47.1% from the field, 33.3% from beyond the arc, and was 7-of-9 at the foul line.

For the week, Jackson's shooting was exceptional, making 62.5% from the floor, 46.2% from downtown, and 73.7% at the free-throw line, averaging 35 points per game. He also added 12 boards, two assists, three steals, and one block to his weekly box score.

Avery Jackson and TMU are back in action on Thursday, Jan. 29, against La Sierra (Calif.) at home. Tip-off is scheduled for 8 p.m. PT.
