Carbon Has the Blue Raiders Off to The Best Start in Conference Action Since 2017-18 Earning Offensive Player of the Week Honors
KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Kenyata Carbon of Lindsey Wilson (Ky.) turned in back-to-back career games, putting the Blue Raiders up 2-0 in conference action for the first time since the 2017-18 season, to earn the Gared Performance Sports Systems NAIA Men's Basketball Player of the Week honors.
Carbon put up eight shots, making seven of them to score 18 points in the second half alone, securing the come-from-behind victory against Campbellsville (Ky.). With 0.8 seconds left in regulation, he collected on the go-ahead lay-up to seal the game. A 32-point performance against the Tigers over 33 total minutes played, he was on fire, shooting a total of 70.6% from the floor, 66.7% from deep, and at the charity stripe.
Two days later, he did it again, going for 33 points and 11 boards, playing all but two minutes in the game, lifting LWU over the Phoenix of Cumberland (Tenn.). He shot the same from the field in game two of the week, 70.6%, while still going 50% from beyond the arc, and 77.8% at the foul line.
On the week, he was unstoppable, scoring an average of 32.5 points, shooting over 70% at the free throw line and from the field, while putting away 57.1% of his shots from downtown. He added an average of eight boards, three assists, and one steal per game.
