Raminger Wins Midwest Spring Invite, Leads Valley to Team Title for NAIA Men's Golfer of the Week
KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Missouri Valley freshman Joaquin Raminger was 10-under par with a final-round 67 (-5) last week at Kansas Wesleyan's Midwest National Spring Invitational, leading his Vikings to a win by 17 strokes to claim the 14th NAIA Men's Golfer of the Week designation of the 2026 season, April 15.
Raminger opened the event in 2-under par, shooting 70 in the opening 18 holes, followed by a 3-under 69 in the second round. He slammed the door on a three-stroke win by shooting a final-round 67.
Missouri Valley was even par as a team for the 54-hole event, played on one of the top golf courses in the Sunflower State, Colbert Hills, in Manhattan.
Raminger posted a clean card in the first round with a front-nine bogey that was wiped off by a birdie on the back nine, and he made eagle on the driveable par-4 13th. After the bogey on his third hole of the day, in round one, he played the next 31 holes in 8-under par, closing his second-round 69 with a double on the par-5 first hole. He started each on the par-4 second.
In the final round, Raminger made five birdies in his first 12 holes, and despite three bogeys in the next four holes, he issued an eagle at the 16th and a birdie on No. 18, ending with a par on No. 1 to close out the event.
The Vikings have one more regular-season event left, next week at home on Monday and Tuesday, before the Heart of America Athletic Conference Championship in Smithville, Mo., April 27-28.
