Pair of Game-Winning Goals Powers Jannik Hofmann to Offensive Player of the Week
KANSAS CITY, Mo.- Lourdes (Ohio) men’s soccer forward Jannik Hofmann has been selected as the season's first NAIA Men’s Soccer Offensive Player of the Week. The senior put on an impressive scoring display in the two-game stretch that lifted the Gray Wolves to wins over Huntington (Ind.) (3-1) and Indiana Northwest (2-1).
Hofmann tallied four goals across the pair of matches, notching the game-winner in each. He opened the week by scoring twice and adding an assist in Wednesday’s victory over Huntington, then delivered both goals in Saturday’s triumph against Indiana Northwest, including the deciding strike in the 80th minute.
The Bremen, Germany native has now scored in all three contests this fall, amassing five goals and an assist to pace Lourdes’ attack.
The Gray Wolves enter the new week with a 2-1 record as they continue their home stretch against Indiana East and St. Francis Xavier.
