KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Gergo Varga of Benedictine Mesa (Ariz.) has been named the NAIA Men’s Soccer Offensive Player of the Week after powering the Redhawks to a postseason berth behind a four-goal outing last week. 

His performance was highlighted by a hat trick in a 5-1 win over Life Pacific (Calif.) and the opening goal in a 2-1 victory over The Master’s (Calif.) to close out the regular season. Varga posted an impressive .833 shot-on-goal percentage over the two matches. His efforts helped guide the Redhawks into the Golden State Athletic Conference (GSAC) Tournament.

The senior leads Benedictine Mesa with nine goals on the season.

Benedictine Mesa returns to action on Friday to face Arizona Christian in the first round of the conference tournament.
