Stuart Stovall of Cornerstone (Mich.) Picks up Field Athlete of the Week after Securing a top Mark in the NAIA

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Stuart Stovall of Cornerstone (Mich.) continued to raise the bar as he picked up NAIA Men's Outdoor Field Athlete of the Week. The Fishers, Ind. native had a strong showing at the Calvin Invitational, achieving a pair of national standards in both the Hammer and Discus.

The junior was locked in for the hammer throw last week, tossing not only an "A" standard, but also the top mark in the NAIA at 63.94m and a new program record to secure the win. He backed up his record-setting hammer performance in the discus, throwing a "B" standard with a distance of 51.43.

Stovall and the Golden Eagles open competition at the Drake Relays today in Des Moines, Iowa. The event runs through Saturday, April 25.
