Stuart Zachariah Stovall Logs Two NAIA "A" Standards for Field Athlete of the Week Honors

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Cornerstone (Mich.) junior Stuart Zachariah Stovall delivered a statement weekend on one of the nation’s biggest stages, earning NAIA Men’s Field Athlete of the Week honors after a pair of elite performances at the Drake Relays on April 25.

Competing in a loaded field that included DI talent, the Fishers, Indiana, native reclaimed the NAIA’s top spot in the discus with a personal-best throw of 56.18 meters. Stovall’s mark placed him third overall in the 25-athlete competition and met the NAIA “A” standard.

Stovall backed up his discus breakthrough with another top-five finish in the hammer throw, recording a 61.14-meter effort to take fifth in a 25-man field. The throw also met the NAIA “A” standard, giving him two A-standard results in the same meet.

With his PR in the discus, Stovall not only moved back to No. 1 in the NAIA in that event, but he also now holds the top spot nationally in two events.
