KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Milligan (Tenn.) senior Luis Peralta of Passaic, N.J., has been named the NAIA Men’s Outdoor Track Athlete of the Week after a standout performance at the Tennessee Invite on April 10–11.

Peralta delivered a meet-winning run in the 800 meters, taking first place in a 56-athlete field with a Milligan-record time of 1:48.84. The mark not only set a new standard for the Buffaloes, it also met the NAIA “A” standard and currently stands as the top 800-meter time in the NAIA this spring.

Peralta’s impact extended beyond the individual event as he also played a key role on Milligan’s 4x400-meter relay. The relay squad produced another school record, clocking 3:15.33 to continue a record-setting weekend for the program.
