Tristan Trevino Rewrote the Marian (Ind.) Record Book For Both Events, Earning Track Athlete of the Week

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Tristan Trevino of Marian (Ind.) rewrote the record book in both the 1500m and 800m last week for the Knights. The Phoenix, Ariz., native ran a pair of "A" standards in both events to earn NAIA Men's Track Athlete of the Week.

At the Bryan Clay Invitational last week, the junior tore up the track. He turned in the fourth fastest 800m time of 1:49.41, before shaving three seconds off his 1500m time. Posting a time of 3:43.49 in the 1500m, Trevino raised the bar nationally as well, clocking a new No. 1 time in the NAIA for the event.

Trevino and the Knights are back in action tomorrow from Louisville, Ky., for the Jim Freeman/Clark Wood Open. The Open runs through Saturday, April 25.
