Cumberland (Tenn.) Outside Joao Infante Turns in 36 Kills to Earn NAIA Attacker of the Week

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Joao Infante, a senior outside hitter from Cumberland (Tenn.), is the NAIA Men's Volleyball Attacker of the Week after a 36-kill, .475 hitting performance last week in a five-set match against Saint Mary-of-the-Woods (Ind.).

The Lisbon, Portugal, native added a pair of digs and two blocks, accounting for 37 points. His career-best 36 kills set a new program best, resulting in a 7.2 kills per set average that pushed his season average to 4.26 kills per set. 

Now 3-6 after the five-set loss to Saint Mary-of-the-Woods, the Phoenix are at home for a pair of matches this weekend, hosting Oakland City (Ind.) and Brescia (Ky.), Friday and Saturday.

NAIA Men's Volleyball Players of the Week are announced on Tuesdays, at NAIA.org, through April 7.
