Denzel Madrigal Posted .420 Attack Percentage Earning Men's Volleyball Attacker of the Week
KANSAS CITY, Mo. - No. 9 Campbellsville (Ky.) junior outside hitter Denzel Madrigal has been named the NAIA Men’s Volleyball Attacker of the Week after powering the Tigers through a perfect 3-0 week.
Operating primarily from the right side, Madrigal averaged 4.22 kills per set while posting a .420 hitting percentage on 69 total attempts with only nine errors.
Madrigal opened the week on Jan. 30 with a dominant performance in a 3-1 win over Culver-Stockton (Mo.), recording 12 kills in just two sets played. He hit .526 in the match, committing only two errors on 19 swings and produced at a rate of six kills per set.
Later that day, he elevated his game again in a 3-1 road win at No. 6 Missouri Baptist. Madrigal led the Tigers with 14 kills, hitting .423 on 26 attempts, and added seven digs as Campbellsville completed the upset.
He capped the stretch on Jan. 31 with another efficient outing in a 3-0 sweep at UHSP (Mo.), finishing with 12 kills and a .333 hitting percentage on 24 attempts.
Across the three-match span, Madrigal totaled 38 kills, added 13 digs and averaged 4.5 points per set overall.
