Missouri Valley Wins furst Pool D Match on Tuesday
CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa - [BOX SCORE] Missouri Valley Vikings completed a straight-sets win over Indiana Tech Warriors on Tuesday afternoon at the Alliant Energy PowerHouse in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, taking the match 25-21, 25-21, 25-20 to move to 24-5 while Indiana Tech finished the day 22-10. Although the set scores stayed tight throughout, Missouri Valley’s steadier efficiency and cleaner stretches in each set separated the teams over the course of the match.
The clearest statistical gap came at the net in overall attacking. Missouri Valley hit .352 as a team (44 kills, 12 errors on 91 attempts), while Indiana Tech finished at .212 (41 kills, 20 errors on 99 attempts). Indiana Tech’s best offensive stretch came in set two, where it posted a strong .423 hitting percentage (15 kills, 4 errors on 26 swings) and again kept the set to a four-point margin.
Missouri Valley’s offense was led by Luca Hasse, who delivered 15 kills on 33 attempts while hitting .394, providing a reliable high-volume option in transition and in-system swings. Loan Fargier was especially efficient, recording seven kills with no errors on 11 attempts for a .636 mark, and Joao Tavares added four kills while also impacting the match at the net with a team-high presence in the block column (one solo and three block assists).
