Cameron Daniels Earns Setter of the Week with 11.67 Assists Per Set

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - No. 2 Saint Xavier (Ill.) junior setter Cameron Daniels has been named the NAIA Men’s Volleyball Setter of the Week after leading his team to a pair of statement wins over NAIA Top 15 opponents. The Omaha, Nebraska, native helped guide the Cougars to consecutive straight-set victories on Feb. 6 and Feb. 7.

Across six sets, Daniels totaled 70 assists, averaging 11.67 assists per set as Saint Xavier swept No. 11 Grand View (Iowa) and No. 15 William Penn (Iowa). His work went beyond directing the offense, as he also contributed 12 digs, two blocks, two kills and a service ace. 

Daniels opened the week by directing a 3–0 win over Grand View on Feb. 6, piling up 39 assists in three sets for an impressive 13 assists per set. He added six digs and a service ace while keeping the Cougars’ offense in rhythm throughout the sweep.

The next day against William Penn, Daniels finished with 31 assists at 10.33 per set. He also chipped in six digs and two blocks, while adding two kills.
