Cameron Daniels Boasts 9.57 Assists Per Set to Earn Setter of the Week

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - No. 2 Saint Xavier (Ill.) junior setter Cameron Daniels has been named the NAIA Men’s Volleyball Setter of the Week after orchestrating the Cougars offense to two statement wins over Top 10 opponents.

The Omaha, Nebraska, native played a central role in the Cougars’ 2-0 week, guiding Saint Xavier past No. 3 St. Thomas (Fla.) in four sets on Jan. 29 and sweeping No. 7 Lawrence Tech (Mich.) on Jan. 31.

Across seven sets, Daniels totaled 67 assists, averaging 9.57 assists per set. He finished the week with eight digs, five blocks, four kills and two service aces, underscoring his ability to influence matches beyond the setting position.

In the four-set win over St. Thomas, Daniels posted 33 assists for an 8.25 assists-per-set clip, along with six digs and two blocks, while also contributing offensively with two kills. He followed that performance with a straight-set victory over Lawrence Tech, where he delivered 34 assists—11.33 per set—while adding three assisted blocks, two digs, two kills and an ace.
