POINT LOMA ADVANCES IN WINNER'S BRACKET OF 2007 SOFTBALL
Sea Lions Spread Three Runs Over Seven Innings to Take Victory

 

Decatur, Ala. - From the 2007 NAIA National Softball Championship at Wilson Morgan Park in Decatur, Alabama, Point Loma Nazarene University (Calif.) improves their record to 43-10 in the winner's bracket with a 3-2 victory over Dickinson State University (N.D.) (32-7).

 

The sophomore left fielder from Chino, California, Melissa Gomez led the Sea Lions going 2-for-3 on the day.  Point Loma scattered the remaining six hits over six different batters. KC Robertson, the leading pitcher for Point Loma, improved her season record to 18-4 on the season.

 

Leah Glasgow, the senior from Santa Cruz, California, led the Blue Hawks on the day going 2-for-4.  Sophomore Mehgan Shaw suffered the loss for Dickinson State, dropping her season record to 22-2.

 

Point Loma advances to face California Baptist University at 3:00 p.m. this afternoon.  Dickinson State will face Saint Gregory's University (Okla.) at 3:00 p.m. this afternoon as well.
