Sarah Basket of Lawrence Tech (Mich.), a Strike out Machine Last Week Earns Pitcher of the Week Honros
KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Sarah Basket of Lawrence Tech (Mich.) was a pitching machine last week. Tossing two complete games and pitching 12 total innings, she averaged nearly 12 strikeouts per seven innings pitched to earn NAIA Softball Pitcher of the Week Honors.
Basket was an issue for opponents in the circle last week. She tossed two complete games, allowing just five hits in both of her outings. She was dialed in too, sitting down 20 batters and issuing just three walks in both games. At 11.67 strikeouts per seven innings, she was so dialed in, she didn't allow a single run to be scored as the Blue Devils went 4-0 and 11-0 during her outings.
The Blue Devils are back on the diamond for their spring break trip. LTU will play 12 games at the Space Coast Complex in Viera West, Fla., starting on March 7 against Marian (Ind.) and Keiser (Fla.).
