Chloe Kreuz of Dordt (Iowa) Bats over .700 In Four Games Last Week Earning Player of the Week Honors
KANSAS CITY, Mo. - The Dordt (Iowa) Defenders junior center fielder, Chloe Kreuz, went 10-for-14 at the plate across two series in GPAC action last week, earning her national Player of the Week honors.
Kreuz's bat traveled well last week for the two road series. In the first two game series against Hastings (Neb.), she was a combined 3-for-4 with a double and a long shot over the wall, driving in a run. The Ruthererfordton, N.C., native scored three runs herself while being walked once.
The next day at Doane (Neb.), she put together solid plate appearances in both games, going a combined 7-for-10 with seven runs scored, two home runs, and five RBI. Overall, Kreuz was stellar with the bat, putting together a slash of .714/.788/1.786 across the weekend. She had 25 total bases and seven extra-base hits.
In the field, she was also nearly perfect, having nine putouts and just one error on the week.
Chloe and the Defenders are back in action on April 7 when they make the quick trip to rival Northwestern (Iowa) in Orange City. The doubleheader will get underway with the first pitch in game one set for 5 p.m. CT, with game two to follow shortly after.
