Haley Fontenot of LSU Alexandria (La.) Swipes NAIA Softball Player of the Week Honors and Career Record For Stolen Bases
KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Haley Fontenot of LSU Alexandria (La.) opens her senior season on a high note, swiping the Generals' career stolen base record to swipe the first NAIA Softball Player of the Week voting.
The senior from Morgan City, La., picked up a pair of stolen bases to open the year against Nelson (Texas), with her second one being the record-setting base with 68. She also got the job done at the plate, going 5-of-7 with seven runs, a double, two dingers, and three RBI.
Fontenot recorded a .714 batting average, .800 OBP, and a slugging percentage of 1.714 over three games last week with a dozen total bases.
Fontenot and the Generals are back in action at home this weekend in the Generals Showdown against MidAmerica Nazarene (Kan.), (RV) William Carey (Miss.), Central Baptist (Ark.), and Texas A&M Victoria.
