Jessie Daniels of Campbellsville (Ky.) Was Unstoppable at the Plate Lifting the Lady Tigers Over the Lions

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Jessie Daniels of Campbellsville (Ky.) put together a massive week at the plate in a three-game series in the battle of the big cats against Freed-Hardeman (Tenn.). With a slash of .500/.500/1.833, she was a tough out with a red-hot bat.

The junior infielder stepped to the plate 12 times over the three games last week and made contact twice in each game for six total hits on the week. None of her six hits were singles, as she hit a double and belted five hits to the moon, trying to catch up with Artemis II.  Her one double came at a perfect time in the seventh inning that kept the Lady Tigers' seventh-inning rally alive in game one. Many of her hits came at critical times, including the game-winning, go-ahead shot in game two.

Overall, on the week, the Owensboro, Ky. native, was a rock-solid bat in the series; she recorded 22 total bases, no walks, and just one strikeout in her dozen at-bats. She was also solid in the field, going 36-for-36 and not missing a single chance, for a perfect 1.000 fielding percentage.

Daniels and the Lady Tigers are back in action later today, against Johnson (Tenn.) at home on Hord Softball Field. The first pitch for game one is set for 4 p.m. ET, with game two to follow at approximately 6 p.m. ET.
