Culver-Stockton (Mo.) Sophomore Attacker, Addison Holm Packs the Box Sheet Sweeping Offensive and Defensive Player of the Week Honors
KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Addison Holm of Culver-Stockton (Mo.) sweeps both NAIA Women's Lacrosse Offensive and Defensive Player of the Week honors after packing her stat sheet across two victories last week. In addition to having a "do it all" mentality last week, the sophomore from Lake St. Louis, Mo., also added two program records and helped the Wildcats to the first shutout win in program history.
Holm was all over the field last week, covering nearly all 59,400 square feet of a lacrosse field. Offensively, she opened the week with five goals and six assists against St. Ambrose (Iowa) as CSC doubled up on the Fighting Bees 18-9. She was nearly perfect in shots on goal, placing 6-of-7 on frame.
Two days later, she followed with another five-goal and five-assist performance against Mount Mercy (Iowa), where she was once again nearly perfect in shots on goal, putting 6-of-7 on frame. The Wildcats picked up a big 19-0 program victory against the Mustangs, marking the first shutout win ever for CSC.
Defensively, it is where the sophomore really shined last week; against SAU, she won eight draw controls before adding 12 more against MMU. Holm's dozen draw controls wins against the Mustangs tied the program record, but she also picked up her 65th draw win of the season, setting the single-season Wildcats record.
Overall, Addison was the key to CSC's two wins last week as she put together totals of 10 goals, 11 assists, 21 points, five ground balls, 20 draw controls, one caused turnover, and was 12-of-14 in shots on goal.
Holm and company are back in action on April 8 at home in Canton, Mo., at Poulton Stadium when they welcome Ottawa (Kan.) to town for a 4 p.m. CT opening draw.
