2024 NAIA Women's Soccer Players of the Week - No. 5 (September 24)
KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Georgia Gwinnett holds both player of the week titles this week as Cecilie Povlsen secured NAIA Women's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week honors and Ayano Kurosawa was named the NAIA Women's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week. The duo was selected based on their performances from September 16-22 and were chosen out of a pool of conference/Continental Athletic Conference (Independents)/unafilliated group nominees.
Players of the Week are announced weekly throughout the regular season on Tuesdays on naia.org, Instagram, and X.

NAIA Women's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week
Cecilie Povlsen, Georgia Gwinnett - SO - Forward
- Scored her first goals of the 2024 season at the right time, notching a pair of scores in the upset win over No. 8 Cumberland (Tenn.).
- Matched her career high in goals scored in a season with three after adding a first-half score on the road against Brescia (Ky.).
- Povlsen tallied seven shots, five of which were on frame for a .714 shot-on-goal percentage between three games.
NAIA Women's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week
Ayano Kurosawa, Georgia Gwinnett - JR - Goalkeeper
- Kurosawa posted back-to-back shutout victories for the Grizzlies on the road.
- Matched her career high in saves (11) during the 3-0 win at No. 8 Cumberland (Tenn.).
- Held the NAIA leaders in goals scored (49) scoreless while helping GGC to their first win over a ranked opponent since 2022.
