A Pair of Shutout Wins, Including an Upset Earns Natalie Allison Defensive Player of the Week Honors
KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Natalie Allison of Columbia (Mo.) put together 180 minutes of shutouts last week as she earns NAIA Women's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week honors. Over the two matches last week, she posted 13 total saves and added two more wins to her total this season.
In the Cougars' first game against Mid-America Christian, Allison notched five saves on the road as CC returned home with a 2-0 victory. The big performance between the posts for Allison came at home against No. 6 John Brown (Ark.), where she kept busy. The junior goalkeeper recorded eight saves for the 1-0 upset victory; her eight saves are tied for eighth-best in program history as she earns a resume-boosting win.
Allison's 43 saves on the season put her at 19th in the nation, with a 1.43 goals against average over 630 minutes between the posts. The Cougars are back in action at home on Thursday, Sept. 25, as they host first-year program Dakota State (S.D.).
