Overtime Goal Has the Eagles of ERAU Soaring into National Semifinals
ORANGE BEACH, Ala. - Embry-Riddle (Ariz.) emerged victorious against Truett McConnell (Ga.) with a 1-0 win in the 97th minute in a match that was moved to Orange Beach Sportsplex, during the 2025 NAIA Women's Soccer Quarterfinals.. ERAU's improves to 19-0-3 while TMU closes the 2025 season at 19-1-2.
The game remained scoreless through regulation time, but it wasn't for the lack of chances from either side. Embry-Riddle's goalkeeper, Aubrianne Dupre, posted a stellar performance, saving all three shots on goal to maintain a clean sheet over 97 minutes. Her counterpart, Danica Wittmann of Truett McConnell, was equally strong in goal, recording four saves.
The match's lone goal came in the 97th minute, courtesy of Tessa Updegraff, who capitalized on an assist from Samantha Wright. Updegraff's strike sealed the victory for Embry-Riddle, propelling them to the national semifinals.
Throughout the game, Embry-Riddle had an abundance of chances on goal, outshooting Truett McConnell 15-4 and leading in corner kicks with six compared to the Lady Bears' two.
The Eagles await their semifinal opponent, who will be decided in the following game between Missouri Valley and Keiser (Fla.).
