The Vikings March into the Quarterfinals After Defeating Blue Raiders

PENSACOLA, Fla. - Missouri Valley is headed to the NAIA Women's Soccer Quarterfinals after defeating Lindsey Wilson (Ky.), 3-0, wrapping up the round of 16 games. The match extended Missouri Valley's unbeaten streak, bringing their season record to an impressive 18-0-4, while Lindsey Wilson fell to 10-6-2.

The game began with Missouri Valley striking early, just 8:34 into the match. Marlene Flores found the back of the net with an unassisted goal, capitalizing on a rebound from a free kick. This early lead set the tone for the rest of the match. MVC continued putting pressure on LWU's defense, and their efforts paid off again in the 39th minute when Viktoria Einsbor scored by controlling a loose ball with her chest, doubling their lead before halftime.

As the second half unfolded, the Blue Raiders continued to look for a way to break through Missouri Valley's defense. Despite matching MVC's total shots at 16, LWU was unable to convert any of its attempts. The Viking's goalkeeper, Marina Barbara Bujalance, was a wall, making four crucial saves to keep a clean sheet. Missouri Valley sealed their victory with a third goal in the 61st minute, courtesy of Judit Ferre. Ferre's strike was a low line drive from over 20 yards out.

The Vikings will be back in action on Thursday, Dec. 4 at 7 p.m. CT against 14th-seeded Keiser (Fla.) with a spot in the national semifinals on the line.
