NAIA Tennis Players of the Week – No. 1 (March 4)
KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Southeastern (Fla.) swept the first installment of NAIA weekly tennis awards, as senior Irene Lopez was named NAIA Women’s Player of the Week, and Diego Menendez claimed NAIA Men’s Player of the Week to begin the spring.
Lopez and Menendez were selected based on their performances from February 27 - March 3 and was chosen out of a pool of conference/Continental Athletic Conference (Independents)/unaffiliated group and independent institution nominees. Players of the Week are announced weekly throughout the regular season on Wednesdays on naia.org, Instagram and Twitter.

NAIA Women’s Tennis Player of the Week
Irene Lopez, Southeastern (Fla.) – Senior
- Was in on all four doubles points in a 4-0 week for the Fire, adding three singles wins over opponents from Warner (Fla.), OUAZ (Ariz.), Davenport University and the University of Mary.
NAIA Men’s Tennis Player of the Week
Diego Menendez, Southeastern (Fla.) – Senior
- Went undefeated in an unbeaten, tough week for the Fire, including a No. 1 singles victory over Razvar Lazar, from OUAZ (Ariz.). Also earned singles wins over opponents from Warner (Fla.) and Davenport University, adding three more victories from the No. 1 doubles line.
