Dickinson State's Gunderson Wins Pair of Events, Collecting First Field Athlete of the Week in 2026

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Dickinson State (N.D.) senior Chloe Gunderson hit an A standard and won the shot put, last week at the Marauders Outdoor Opener, adding a win and a B standard in the discus to earn NAIA Women's Outdoor Field Athlete of the Week in the first installment of the award in the 2026 season.

Gunderson was also second in the hammer throw, with a mark of 46.77 meters. She is currently 16th in the hammer this season in the NAIA. 

The Powers Lake, N.D., native leads the NAIA in both the shot put and discus, this season, winning Saturday's shot put with a mark of 14.18 meters, and her winning throw in the discus measured 47.42 meters in the event, hosted by the University of Mary.

Dickinson State is back in action Saturday, at Montana State Billings.
