Naomi Monney-Hori Named NAIA Women's Volleyball Attacker of the Week
KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Naomi Monney-Hori, a junior outside hitter from Olivet Nazarene (Ill.), has been named the NAIA Women's Volleyball Attacker of the Week. Hailing from Guatemala City, Guatemala, Monney-Hori's recent performances secured her at the top of the Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference standings with 3.27 kills per set.
During the past week, Monney-Hori was instrumental in leading the Tigers to consecutive victories against IU Northwest (Ind.) and IU South Bend (Ind.). Across these two matches, she averaged an impressive 6.14 kills per set, amassing a total of 43 kills. This achievement is particularly noteworthy as it nearly doubles her already conference-leading average of 3.27 kills per set.
In the October 28 match against IUNW, Monney-Hori recorded 23 kills with a hitting percentage of .327, contributing significantly to the team's 3-1 victory. She also added 14 digs for a double-double as well as an ace..
Monney-Hori continued her exceptional form on November 1 against IUSB, where she delivered 20 kills with an outstanding .486 hitting percentage with only two errors on 37 swings, leading the Tigers to a straight-set victory. She not only contributed a service ace but also recorded 10 digs for her second double-double of the week.
This is the final attacker of the week of the season as teams head into postseason play.
