Bushnell (Ore.) Ends Day Two With a Sweep in Pool G

SIOUX CITY, Iowa [BOX SCORE | SCHEDULE] - In the NAIA Women's Volleyball National Championship, the Bushnell (Ore.) Beacons swept the Oklahoma Wesleyan Eagles in three straight sets (25-23, 25-21, 25-20).

Bushnell's strong offensive performance was a key factor in their victory, with the team's hitting percentage of .270 compared to Oklahoma Wesleyan's .162.

Hailey Heider and Amyah Semau had standout performances for the Beacons. Heider led the team with 17 kills and a hitting percentage of .389, while Semau contributed 13 kills with an impressive .417 hitting percentage. Leah Agost also played a crucial role, adding nine kills.

Emma Fa'alogo directed the Beacon offense and tallied 22 assists on the match. She was followed by Katie Belitz with 12. Defensively, they were led by Kailey Shirley with 18 digs.

For the Eagles, Evelyn Rohrberg recorded 14 kills with a .242 hitting percentage, while Maria Sanra Cruz added nine kills. Sydney Collins contributed significantly with 31 assists and seven digs. Maria Luisa Caycedo anchored the Eagle backline with 18 digs. 

With the pool play victory, it marks Bushnell's first in program history.

With the loss, Oklahoma Wesleyan will have to win their match on December 5 against Bellevue (Neb.) in order to send the pool to a tie-break scenario. The match will take place on court one at 6:30 p.m. CT. Bushnell will await the result of the Bellevue vs Oklahoma Wesleyan match to see if they will compete in a tie-break scenario.
