Corban (Ore.) Advanced to Quarterfinals for Third Time
Sioux City, Iowa [BOX SCORE | BRACKET] - On the final day of pool play at the 2025 NAIA Women's Volleyball Championship, the Corban (Ore.) Warriors swept the Missouri Baptist Spartans in straight sets (25-22, 25-18, 25-22) to advance out of pool play. The victory marked Corban's 24th win of the season, improving their record to 24-4.
Corban's offense was spearheaded by Makayla Roginski, who delivered a standout performance with 12 kills and a hitting percentage of .250. She was well-supported by Taylor Kieser, who was exceptionally efficient, recording six kills with a .417 hitting percentage. The team collectively registered a hitting percentage of .123, outpacing the Spartans .037.
MBU, which entered the match with a strong 26-5 record, struggled to find its rhythm against the Warriors. Gabi Jakubowska led the Spartans with 17 kills, but it wasn't enough to counter Corban's attack.
Corban's defensive efforts were highlighted by a collective 30 blocks, with Kendra Bittle led the blocking effort with seven block assists.
With the loss, MBU was eliminated from tournament play.
With the win, Corban advances to the quarterfinals for the third time in program history. The Warriors will face the winner of pool D on Saturday at 2 p.m. CT.
