Lewis-Clark State (Idaho) Reverse Sweeps Aquinas (Mich.)
Sioux City, Iowa [BOX SCORE | SCHEDULE] In pool B at the 2025 NAIA Women's Volleyball National Championship, the Lewis-Clark State (Idaho) Warriors emerged victorious over the Aquinas (Mich.) Saints in a thrilling five-set match. LC secured a 3-2 win with set scores of 22-25, 20-25, 26-24, 25-17, and 15-8.
The match began with the Saints taking the lead after winning the first two sets, 25-22 and 25-20, as Aquinas posted an impressive .385 hitting percentage in the first set. However, the Warriors bounced back in the third set with a narrow 26-24 victory. Lewis-Clark State continued to build momentum in the fourth set, overpowering Aquinas with a 25-17 win. The decisive fifth set saw LC close out the match with a 15-8 victory.
Mikale Roy was a standout player for Lewis-Clark State, contributing significantly with 21 kills and achieving a .351 hitting percentage. Taylor Boyce also made a significant impact with 15 kills, while Juliauna Forgach Aguilar also contributed double-digit kills with 11.
Ella Stosich of Lewis-Clark State led all players with 26 digs, while Bella Holmes of Aquinas followed with 25 digs of her own.
On the Saints' side, Cece Pelak and Lauren Chioini were noteworthy contributors, each recording 16 kills, while Nevaeh Bakker also recorded double-digit digs at 10.
The Warriors won the service line battle with 13 total aces and five service errors compared to the Saints' seven aces and 18 service errors.
With the loss, the Saints will have to win their match on December 5 against Northwestern (Iowa) in order to send the pool to a tie-break scenario. The match will take place on court two at 3:30 p.m. CT. Lewis-Clark State will await the result of the Northwestern vs Aquinas match to see if they will compete in a tie-break scenario.
