McPherson (Kan.) Ends Cumberlands (Ky.) Win Streak
SIOUX CITY, Iowa [BOX SCORE | BRACKET] - In a nail-biting showdown to advance out of Pool H at the 2025 NAIA Women's Volleyball National Championship, the McPherson (Kan.) Bulldogs triumphed over the Cumberlands (Ky.) Patriots in a five sets (26-24, 20-25, 25-22, 17-25, 15-8).
For McPherson, Enya Fierens delivered a standout performance with 25 kills and an impressive attack percentage of .524, playing a pivotal role in her team's victory. Brooke McHale also contributed significantly with 12 kills and 17 digs, while Roxanna Varela Parra orchestrated the offense with 52 assists.
On the other side, Cumberlands' Brynnley Bryant was a force to be reckoned with, registering a double-double with 17 kills and contributing 21 points overall. Elaina Fischer and Kara Gipson added 14 and 13 kills.
With the loss, Cumberlands (Ky.) is eliminated from tournament play.
With the win, McPherson (Kan.) advances out of Pool H and will move on to the quarterfinal round for the first time in program history. The Bulldogs will face Eastern Oregon at 11 a.m. CT on December 6.
