Mount Vernon Nazarene (Ohio) Victorious in Four
SIOUX CITY, Iowa [BOX SCORE | SCHEDULE] - In the 2025 NAIA Women's Volleyball National Championship, the Mount Vernon Nazarene (Ohio) Cougars secured a 3-1 victory over the College of Idaho Yotes in an exciting volleyball match (25-14, 25-16, 18-25, 29-27).
For the Cougars, Evelyn Brown was a standout performer, achieving an impressive hitting percentage of .536 with 15 kills and no errors on 28 attempts. Libby Evanshine also contributed significantly with 14 kills. The team collectively hit at a .216 percentage, outmatching the College of Idaho's .127.
Directing the MVNU offense, Reagan Nuss tallied 37 assists along with 13 digs. On the defensive end, Jaelyn Tang anchored the backline with 23 digs, followed by Morgan Schlabach with 11.
The College of Idaho was led by Mia Hutchinson, who recorded a double-double with 12 kills and 14 digs. Abigail Flerchinger followed with 10 kills. Yotes setters Shaynee McWilliams and Madeline Lee combined for 40 assists on the night.
With the loss, the College of Idaho is eliminated from the tournament.
This championship pool play victory marks MVNU's second in program history. The Cougars return to action on Friday, December 5, at 3:30 p.m. CT, taking on Providence (Mont.) on court one.
