Roxanna Varela Parra's Breakthrough Week Earns National Recognition
KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Roxanna Varela Parra, a freshman setter for McPherson (Kan.), showcased her skills in two road victories this past week to earn NAIA Women's Volleyball Setter of the Week honor.
In the two matches played, Varela Parra accumulated an impressive 81 assists, averaging an astounding 13.50 assists per set.
Her performance against Bethany (Kan.) on October 1st was particularly noteworthy, where she recorded 48 assists, averaging 16.00 assists per set.
Varela Parra's performance against Ottawa (Kan.) on October 4th was equally impressive as she tallied 33 assists, averaging 11.00 assists per set. The freshman added six kills to her stat line as well.
Varela Parra also contributed defensively with 12 digs across the two matches, averaging 2.00 digs per set. Her defensive efforts were complemented by her service game, where she delivered two service aces.
