Keiser No. 1 Didrik Liljekvist Takes Season's First Men's Tennis Weekly Award
Senior from Sweden led Third-Ranked Seahawks to Pair of Wins
KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Keiser (Fla.) senior Didrik Liljekvist is the first NAIA Men's Tennis Player of the Week for the 2026 season after earning a pair of dominant wins last week over opponents from Palm Beach Atlantic and No. 23 St. Thomas (Fla.).
Liljekvist, the Seahawks' No. 1, from Stockholm, Sweden, occupied the No. 1 position in both singles and doubles, including a 5-0 sweep of 23rd-ranked, conference rival STU.
Competing at the top singles flight, Liljekvist earned one of the most significant individual wins in the NAIA this season. He defeated No. 17 Mariano Hasenkopf of STU in straight sets, 7-6(5), 6-2. Hasenkopf entered the match holding the highest UTR in all of NAIA men’s tennis. In doubles action, Liljekvist partnered with Matthew Dubas at the No. 1 position and went a perfect 2-0 on the week. The pair opened with a dominant 6-0 win over Palm Beach Atlantic and followed with a 6-3 win against St. Thomas.
Liljekvist is unbeaten in singles and doubles this season.
The Seahawks will travel to the USTA Campus in Lake Nona, Fla., March 11 for a match against Emory on March 11. First serve is scheduled for 2:00 p.m.
