Keiser Breaks a Pair of NAIA Records to Open the 2026 NAIA Women's Swimming and Diving National Championship
Championships opened Wednesday with 200 medley relay, 800 free relay
Elkhart, Ind. – The 2026 NAIA Women’s Swimming & Diving Championships opened Wednesday night as the 200 medley relay and the 800 free relay were contested at the Elkhart Aquatic Center.
Keiser (Fla.) leads the team standings with 80 points after a pair of record-breaking performances. The Seahawks opened the championships with Natalia Janiszewska, Kate Vorontsova, Luiza Bersi, and Boglarka Zsunics teaming up for a winning time of 1:40.52 in the 200 medley relay. That time broke the NAIA record set in 2012 by 0.80 seconds.
The Seahawks followed that up with a record-breaking swim in the 800 free relay, clocking 7:22.55. Janiszewska, Alanis Santiago, Rachel Bradley, and Bersi teamed up to capture the title and break the national record set in 2023 by almost three seconds.
SCAD-Savannah (Ga.) posted a pair of runner-up finishes to finish second with 68 points. The Bees clocked a 1:41.13 in the 200 medley relay and a 7:24.41 in the 800 free relay.
The Masters (Calif.) finished third in both relays to sit in third place in the team standings with 64 points. The Masters went 1:43.89 in the 200 medley relay and 7:24.95 in the 800 free relay.
St. Thomas (Fla.) utilized a pair of top-five finishes to sit in fourth place with 58 points, while Cumberlands (Ky.) rounds out the top five with 56 points.
The NAIA Championship will continue on Thursday, March 5, with the second day of competition. Prelims are slated to begin at 9 a.m. EST, and finals will start at 5 p.m. EST.
