2019 NAIA Women’s Volleyball Players of the Week — No. 3 (Sept. 24)

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Rebecca Frick of Dakota Wesleyan (S.D.) has been named the NAIA National Women’s Volleyball Attacker of the Week, Ariana Macies of Missouri Baptist has been named the NAIA National Women’s Volleyball Defender of the Week and Alex Falcone of Indiana Wesleyan has been named the NAIA National Volleyball Setter of the Week, the national office announced Tuesday. The trio was selected based on their performances from Sept. 16 - 22 and were chosen out of a pool of conference and Association of Independent Institution winners.

Attacker of the Week
Rebecca Frick, Dakota Wesleyan
6-0, SR, OH, Yankton, S.D.

  • Frick notched a double-double in all four matches as the team went 4-0 on the week winning each match in three sets.

    • 56 kills, 4.67 kills/set
    • 0.317 attack percentage
    • Also added 62 digs, three aces and eight blocks (two solo)

Defender of the Week
Ariana Macies, Missouri Baptist
5-8, JR, L, Santa Fe, Argentina

  • Macies recorded double-digit digs in each of the matches she competed in last week as her team went 2-0 on the week.

    • 44 digs, 6.29 average
    • 1.000 reception percentage
    • Also added three service aces to her stat line

Setter of the Week
Alex Falcone, Indiana Wesleyan
5-9, SR, S, Sellersburg, Ind.

  • Falcone recorded her 650th assist on the season last week as she directed her team to a 3-0 week. The Indiana native recorded a week-high 51 assists.

    • 134 assists
    • 13.40 assists/set
    • 18 digs, 1.80 average
    • Also contributed three kills, 18 digs and three assisted blocks
