2019 NAIA Women’s Volleyball Players of the Week — No. 4 (Oct. 1)

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Makenzie Fink of Northwestern (Iowa) has been named the NAIA National Women’s Volleyball Attacker of the Week, Sam Rice of Vanguard (Calif.) has been named the NAIA National Women’s Volleyball Defender of the Week and Lacey Wacker of Northwestern has been named the NAIA National Volleyball Setter of the Week, the national office announced Tuesday. The trio was selected based on their performances from Sept. 23 – 29 and were chosen out of a pool of conference and Association of Independent Institution winners.

Attacker of the Week
Makenzie Fink, Northwestern
6-1, JR, RS, Lanark, Ill.

• Fink helped her team to a 3-0 week while handing No. 13 Jamestown (N.D.) its first conference loss of the season.

Defender of the Week
Sam Rice, Vanguard
5-5, SR, L, Temecula, Calif.

• Rice had a week-high of 34 digs vs No. 25 The Master’s (Calif.), just four digs away from her season-high.

  • 0.973 reception percentage

Setter of the Week
Lacey Wacker, Northwestern

• Wacker notched the second-highest assists game total in her career with 63 assists against Dakota Wesleyan (S.D.).
