Defending National Champions Open Pool Play with Win
In Pool D at the 2025 NAIA Women's Volleyball National Champions, the Indiana Wesleyan Wildcats captured a 3-0 (25-13, 25-20, 25-18) victory over Cornerstone (Mich.) Golden Eagles.
Sioux City, Iowa [BOX SCORE | SCHEDULE] – In Pool D at the 2025 NAIA Women's Volleyball National Champions, the Indiana Wesleyan Wildcats captured a 3-0 (25-13, 25-20, 25-18) victory over Cornerstone (Mich.) Golden Eagles. Indiana Wesleyan improved its record to 29-4, while Cornerstone fell to 27-8.
Indiana Wesleyan set the tone offensively, taking the first set 25-13 while registering a .333 attack percentage. Cornerstone struggled to find its rhythm, while being held to only a .057 hitting percentage in the first set. The second set saw Cornerstone improve, scoring 20 points, yet Indiana Wesleyan maintained its momentum with a .293 attack percentage. The Wildcats sealed their victory in the third set with a 25-18 win.
Eva Joldersma emerged as a crucial player for IWU, showcasing her skills with 17 kills and a .342 hitting percentage throughout the match. Shae Williams and Marissa Mullins also hit double digits with 10 kills apiece. Their performances were complemented by the strategic playmaking of setter Abbigail Porter, who contributed 34 assists.
The Golden Eagles saw big contributions from Josilyn Potter and Aubrey Johnson, who both registered nine kills each.
The Wildcats posted their 13th win in championship pool play with today's win.
Both teams will face IU Kokomo (Ind.) over the next two days: Cornerstone at 1 p.m. CT on December 4 on court one and Indiana Wesleyan at 1 p.m. CT on December 5 on court two.
